Anime Review Final Thoughts:
Arakawa Under the Bridge x Bridge

What this is about: Wrapping up the very last of the 2010 anime shows that I have watched. Rather than in-depth reviews with lots of pictures, here’s just a few quick thoughts to finish up everything before I move on to 2011. Just get it all out of the way, already!

ep.13 tl;dr review: Maria wins epic showdown against Sister; men forced to herd sheep like dogs.

My Thoughts: As the series progressed, I slowly lost interest, to the point that I put off watching the final episode until just a couple days ago. As a conclusion, it was pretty weak, just another episode that didn’t really wrap up anything at all. The first 13-episode series was all about the jokes, but it also did have a bit of a romantic undercurrent and actual character development for Kou/Recruit. The second 13-episode series looked like it was going to explore a bit of Nino’s mysterious past…and then it didn’t. Just more jokes. That got tiring after a while.

FINAL SERIES GRADE: C+ – Mildly interesting, and only really if you’re a fan of the first animated series. And even then, I’m somewhat reluctant to recommend this second series, because it detracts from the first thirteen episodes. Sort of the same way I feel about Excel Saga, a comedy that started strong but dragged in the second half.

What’s Up Next: Final thoughts and final grades on Psychic Detective Yakumo, Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt, Katanagatari, Sora no Woto, Durarara, Darker than Black: Gaiden, and Time of Eve.
