Yumeiro Patisserie Mune-Kyun Tropical Island Special
What this is about: I made the promise that I would review every new subtitled anime show (excluding blatant yaoi and/or porn) released during the Spring, Summer and Fall 2010 seasons, so now I am going back to review a handful of shows that I missed over the past few months for one reason or another. This time around, it’s Yumeiro Patisserie Mune-Kyun Tropical Island, a seven-minute original video animation short from July 1, 2010, based on the popular anime series.
tl;dr review: Stuck on tropical island, catch big fish, eat big fish, spirits grow gigantic.

Episode Summary: Based on the popular manga and anime series about a young girl who desires to become a pastry chef, this is just a short video special that has nothing to do with the story itself. Four of the main characters are trapped on a deserted island, run around trying to find food, get chased by a giant boulder, capture a giant fish, cook and eat the fish, and then the Sweets Spirits that go along with the characters grow gigantic. The end.
My Thoughts: It’s all pretty silly and pointless, ultimately starting from nowhere and going nowhere, the sort of thing you might expect as a DVD extra tacked on as a bonus for the fans. And, really, about the only people who would really find any interest in this at all would be hardcore Yumeiro Patisserie fans.
The last of the un-reviewed 2010 shows, I swear!: Kuroshitsuji II Special: Ciel in Wonderland, Beelzebub OVA, Mirai Nikki, Bakugan Gundalian Warriors, Chi’s Sweet Home OVA, Detective Conan Magic File 4, Detective Conan OVA: Kid in Trap Island
