I’ve read your review on the OVA. You’re correct on one assessment: it can actually work as a stand-alone story.

I also realize that the plot of Goro not telling his children immediately that he is already joining a Japanese baseball team may look quite harsh and possibly irritating for you. This behavior of his would actually be attributed to what his biological father Shigeharu did for him way back in Season 1. What Goro did here was almost exactly what his father did then. The way it’s presented in this OVA, though, may appear to be quite irritating.

Nevertheless, I’m glad that you were able to give the show a second chance since the previous review. Although I understand that you do not have any plans of watching the show starting from Season 1, I’m still glad to know that you’ve decided to give a more logical and more reasonable assessment of the show.

To me this ova was the perfect conclusion to Shining Heresy. Of course it’s for existing fans, because it’s a sequel, not a reboot.

The name “Alone Again” is fitting, because Chirico is yet alone again, after losing his woman (The one in the capsule)

However, just a note: it usually takes me at least two hours to write a (non-half-assed, which accounts for approximately 20% of my total) post, so… hey, at least you’re still watching anime!

Anyways, maybe structuring your posts like this is already restraining yourself. Your new plan isn’t as scheduled as what you were doing, but doesn’t it feel awfully limiting when you tell yourself what you’re going to write x months in advance? Nevertheless, as long as you like what you’re doing, I’m sure you’ll, uh, like what you’re doing. Something like that.
